what does a Blog-o-spondent do ? Im am a current employee and an inspiring blogger.
Hey everyone! There seems to be a "bug" with You Tube embedded video players and IE6. Hopefully we'll have the problem resolved shortly! If you'd like to see the video in the meanwhile, you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssGyAaT3Ah0
Good Luck!

Hi Christi,
I'm a dedicated Southwest Airlines employee who just started blogging. Recently my son told me, "Mom, you need to get with the program, don't you know video blogging is all the rage"! Out of the mouths of babes, right! Oh, did I mention he's eleven? I checked out our Nuts About Southwest blog and posted a comment on your reservations "day in the life series".
The Ultimate Blog-o-spondent assignment sounds amazing. Talk about jumping into the blogosphere head first! I've got twenty years of Southwest stories saved up, wish me luck on pulling them out of my head and coming up with a video blog "Southwest Airlines" style.
Hope to see you in Las Vegas at BlogWorld Expo!

P.S. I forgot to mention, I've colored outside the lines my whole life!
Kirk - Over the next year, the winning Blog-o-spondent will travel to select Southwest cities to produce a minimum of four video segments for our blog. The winner will be provided with air transportation and hotel accommodations for each assignment and will be outfitted with a new video camera, laptop, and editing software to complete the job!
Hope to see your audition video soon!

Southwest Airlines
You don't need a blog, you need some email addresses to which people can send you complaints. Course, you have to hire a couple of hundred people to answer them all, guess that's the problem.
What a waste of time and money. Use it to improve your service.
I think Bryce needs some LUV...or at least a hug
You probably saw the chart in USA Today this week that shows how the other airlines are gouging their customers with nickel-and-dime fees.
Could you imagine a Southwest commercial that showed the executives from these other airlines in a meeting (shown as children in business suits - because this issue is so juvenile) discussing ways to extract extra pesky charges from their customers (with a little "c"):
"Nobody likes to sit in the middle seat. Let's make the middle seat free and charge $15 to sit either in the window or aisle seat. We can call it 'premium seating.'"
The next executive laughs, "Yeah, and if anybody rings the attendant call button, we'll charge $5 each time they do. Just like with a doctor, it will be our 'flight attendant consultation fee.'"
A final executive chimes in, "Even better. . . The flight attendant can stand outside the lavatory door with a credit card machine. If anyone has to use the rest room - zap! - we've got 'em!"
So, this blog-o-spondent job, I am curious to know a few more details on the practical side... like pay, (that is would I be able to pay my minimal bills with this job alone?) Also, how long would the fortunate candidate be, as a young blog-o-spondont with no familial ties, stay at each location to film these neat little snippets of Southwest life? Would that person live in hotels the full year round?
Also, I have questions about the process of determining the winner...like it is all a matter of popularity and what the crowd votes for? Because if I do submit a video it will be bit late and not carry the same possibility of viewing time. Also, it seems that a person could go in your already existing auditions and vote down for the person that he or she perceives as beating them...and I reckon they could vote themselves up. Is there no way to prevent this?
So many questions, I apologize. And your straighforward answers would be more than appreciated.
I had a blast filming my entry, Press Release: New Southwest Airlines Blog-o-spondent!
I'm pretty sure the job doesn't pay well but I do love to make clips that are designed to "Share the Love of Life!" my slogan from my internet TV series, SkydiverGirls.TV
I feel like Southwest shares the love by providing regular people with a positive travel experience. I'm all about that!
I make video blogs, internet TV, video podcasts, or whatever you want to call these, all the time and while it may seem easy, it really does take some time and forethought. Stiil, I truly enjoy doing it and I fly Southwest most of the time anyway... well, because of their no fees, bags fly free, and fun attitude staff.
Please vote for me! I promise to keep you entertained and informed :-)
