Working in an airport every day, you’re bound to see a familiar face or two. Whether it be a celebrity, a long-lost friend, or…the Founder/Chairman Emeritus and the President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines?! Alas, it was not Herb Kelleher and Colleen Barrett flying out of Buffalo on July 7th, but it was two Southwest Customers: John and Edith Spain.

When our Team went to Vegas for our recent, awesome Spirit Party, we had a lot of fun…we also had a lot of work in the form of meetings with our Spirit Party Partners. 

By now you've probably read the articles, gotten the Twitter updates, or even seen a local news story about SWA bucking the current economic situation and going on with a huge Employee party in Las Vegas; and you are probably wondering how in the world this happened.  Well what happened in Vegas last week is definitely NOT staying there—the stories, pictures, and LUV will live on forever.

What do you get when you mix 6,000 Southwest Airlines Employees and guests, food and drink, a famous Texas Swing band, a crisp, clear autumn night, and two legends of the airline industry?  You get the Smokin’ Spirit Party held at our Dallas Maintenance
