This is the spirit party to end all spirit parties. Taking up four hangar bays, 6000 Employees, former Employees and friends attended this Smokin' Spirit Party to celebrate two Southwest legends Herb Kelleher and Colleen Barrett.

Several hundred Employees surprised Colleen with the ringing of cowbells and a display of a large image made up of tiles--like they do at football games. Cheryl Swanson, show here with John Jones, the graphic artist who designed the giant image, holding the tiles over their heads.

There is an old joke around Southwest that goes something like: How many Southwest Employees does it take to change a light bulb?

I simply can't put into words the admiration, respect, and LUV I have for Colleen as a Leader and more importantly, as a person.    I honestly struggle to express this in words or stories.   You are a magnificent and one-of-a-kind!
