I landed at Southwest Airlines in 2004 as a Temp in the Benefits Department. At that point, I had no desire to work at an "airline", I wanted something that was going to be "more fun and creative." (I must have skipped my college marketing class on the day they talked about Southwest Airlines, right?) My first week at HDQ was Halloween; not long after that, the Employee Christmas concert took place, and I was absolutely hooked on the People, the LUV, and the Culture that the Company is built on. I finally became official in on April 18, 2005 when I was hired as an Administrative Assistant in Technology. Two years later, I found my calling--I became one of the "original" Culture Ambassadors, which led to my new position as Culture Activities Rep! If you want to know about New Orleans (my home), Louisiana State University (my alma mater-go tigers!), New York City (my home for three years), Reality TV/Pop Culture (my favorite), or Kookalaka Fettuccini Messina (my dog)--I'm your blogger!

I arrived a few minutes early, signed in, and settled in with my book.  A short while later, we were being whisked away in groups.  I was so involved in my book I almost missed my number being called--I thought I was going to

  Flying With New Wings

I had one of those experiences the weekend before last.  An experience that you couldn’t plan if you tried, but one that means so much that it is hard to put in to words.
