I landed at Southwest Airlines in 2004 as a Temp in the Benefits Department. At that point, I had no desire to work at an "airline", I wanted something that was going to be "more fun and creative." (I must have skipped my college marketing class on the day they talked about Southwest Airlines, right?) My first week at HDQ was Halloween; not long after that, the Employee Christmas concert took place, and I was absolutely hooked on the People, the LUV, and the Culture that the Company is built on. I finally became official in on April 18, 2005 when I was hired as an Administrative Assistant in Technology. Two years later, I found my calling--I became one of the "original" Culture Ambassadors, which led to my new position as Culture Activities Rep! If you want to know about New Orleans (my home), Louisiana State University (my alma mater-go tigers!), New York City (my home for three years), Reality TV/Pop Culture (my favorite), or Kookalaka Fettuccini Messina (my dog)--I'm your blogger!

  Happy Happy Birthday Birthday

You are not seeing double in the title.  March 12, 2010 is an important day at Southwest Airlines.   Happy Lombardi Gras!

I never thought I’d see the day.  My New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl. I know I speak for every native New Orleanian (and even some folks who just love to root for the underdog) when I say I can’t remember a more joyous time in the city.  I’ve lived through 32 Mardi Gras and have never felt the pure love and celebration that I have felt during this entire football season.

The Southwest Vows in the Valley Contest

LUV is in the air.  Not only is Valentine’s Day right around the corner, but we have something very special planned in Harlingen, Texas--the first city we flew to after our original three (Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio).  To celebrate o

  What will he be????

It’s time again for Gary Kelly’s yearly identity crisis to come to a close.  You all sent your suggestions for his Halloween costume and he chose something that won’t let you down, but you won’t find out what it is until our SWA Headquarters Halloween celebration on Friday, October 30.
