  We Bleed Canyon Blue

Great post! I am totally jealous of the person who the room in the 2nd picture belongs to! And where do I get a mailbox like the 3rd picture? My blood is already "canyon blue", and I'm not even a WN employee! (I'm still in high school!) My room is completely filled with SWA posters, model airplanes and books! ....but not anywhere near as much as the 2nd picture! (which I am still jealous of!) But I think that it is really cool that employees at WN have a great amount of company pride and spirit to go above and beyond showing how much they LUV & are dedicated to their place of employment! It’s right there in our Mission Statement: “The mission of Southwest Airlines is dedication to the highest quality of Customer Service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and Company Spirit,” and let me tell you—we take that part about Company Spirit very seriously. In fact, we take it very literally.

My Favorites From the Southwest Archives

Thanks for sharing all of those pictures! It is always interesting to learn about the history of Southwest! The pictures of the seats look interesting! Those multi-colored seats look awesome!  Sarah's last day as our summer Intern is today.  Before she gets away from us and returns to the University of Texas for her last year of graduate school, we asked her to share some of her "finds" from the summer.

  We’re All In This Together

Awesome video! It was really neat and amazing to hear all of the stories from the employees, especially the one about the woman who was getting a surgery! I LUV Southwest because of your amazing employees, and they are the reason I keep coming back to you guys! I have a ton of really fun stories I could tell about Southwest employees going above and beyond their job description to help make someone's day! SWA is awesome, and I hope to get the chance to work with you guys one day! :) "If the Wright brother were alive today Wilbur would have to fire Orville to reduce costs.."-Herb Kelleher

At Southwest Airlines, we like to say, “we are in the Customer Service Business, we just happen to fly airplanes.” We make promises to our Customers that our Employees keep, each and every day.

...And the lavs smelled so good!

I read the title and thought that WN was coming out with some new technology that will stop the lavs from smelling bad... lol :) but it sounded like you had a lot of fun on the flight and at the Boeing facility! Imagine going to a Company event and walking out with the experience of a lifetime.

That’s what happened to six lucky SWA Employees who won the grand prizes at our 2009 Messages to the Field--a trip for them and a guest to visit the Boeing factory in Seattle and accept delivery of a brand new SWA airplane!

Recently, I had a brief encounter with American Idol Season 7 winner and now certified Platinum recording artist, David Cook. I was able to get a picture with him and upload it to Facebook instantly…making many of my friends jealous. With social networking web sites like Facebook, you can share snippets of your life almost instantly.
