Boeing Burgers and Beer Birthday Bash
Boeing Burgers and Beer Birthday Bash
For years now, Boeing has thrown us a birthday party. It has been dubbed “BBBBB” for Boeing Burgers and Beer Birthday Bash. As you might expect, there are Burgers, Beer, it is in a hangar so there are Boeings nearby, and it is around Southwest Airlines’ Birthday. There is a Band, but frankly I was hoping for Bingo, Brownies, Baklava, Bacon, Burritos, Brisket, Bourbon, and a little Broccoli (got to get something healthy in there). But that would be ridiculous! Really, you can’t hear bingo numbers being called with a band playing! With just a little work, we could get it to 10 or more “Bs.”
This episode starts out with a short history of Southwest of the meeting between Rollin King and Herb Kelleher where they decide to start an airline. I speak with Dara from Boeing, bloggers Bill Owen and Gordon Guillory, Flight Attendant Beth Mosby, and our CEO Gary Kelly.
Feel free to comment about things that start with the letter “B” that you might have wanted to see at the BBBBB.

Bravo, Boffo Blogging, Buddy! Beautifully Balanced Bon mots Brought Bafflement.
What would I like to see at the "BBBBB" that begins with a B?
That is an easy answer.... "Bradley"
Maybe one day, I will be able to attend as an employee. Sounds like fun.
Bradley
BRATWURST.
Is it lunchtime, yet?
Sounds like quite the bonanza!
Steve, Love RBR. Thanks for sharing it with us "outsiders" that sit in rows 1 to 23. However, whatever happened to:
"These first two episodes have everything except a clever tagline. That’s why I am asking for input with a closing line. There is some great Southwest Airlines stuff that will be sent to the winner."
Mine, of course was the best. :<)
Happy Birthday to the best airline in the world!
P.S. I am proud to say that I am the newest SWA employee, I start on 7/7/08.
Best to you,
Frank
Yea, Southwest! 1,971 cheers for you! :)
Congratulations, Frank! What are you going to be doing?
Thought for the day: Why are they called butterflies when they're not made out of butter?
SWA LUV! :)
Hi Leah!
I will be working in OPS.
Take care,
Frank
That's great, Frank! July 7th will be here before you know it! :)
Fact for the day: There are two towns in Oklahoma named Pumpkin Center.
SWA LUV! :)
Well. Leah is part right. Pumpkin Center is the name of three small communities in Oklahoma. The largest is in Comanche County, Oklahoma; however, none are incorporated.

And, Yes EJ, I will announce the winner of the tagline contest on the next episode of Red Belly Radio.
